The Eastern United States Pipe Band Association (EUSPBA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the improvement of all aspects of solo and band bagpipe and drum music. Generally the focus is on the Great Highland Bagpipes, the Scottish snare drum, the tenor drum, the bass drum and drum major performance. The Southern Branch of the EUSPBA operates on the local level in the following states: Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. 2008 EUSPBA Nominating Committee Representative Needed

We are in the process of forming the 2008 nominating committee. This committee consists of one representative from each of the six branches and no more than two Executive Committee members. I am hereby sending out a call for one Southern Branch member in good standing to volunteer to act as our branch’s representative. Please let me know of your interest by July 28, 2008.
This year the following offices will be up for election: President; Vice President; Recording Secretary; Officer at Large (Ken Adler’s position). Because of term limits, we must elect a new President this year. June Hanley has decided not to run for re-election. Incumbents in the other two positions have expressed their desire to run for re-election for their respective positions. However, this does not mean that other interested parties cannot run for these positions.

2008 Southern Branch Annual General Meeting — Mt Pleasant, SC

The Branch AGM will be held the morning after the Charleston Games in Mt Pleasant, SC. This is your opportunity to discuss items that will be presented at the EUSPBA AGM in November. Last year's meeting was well attended and very effective in moving issues down the chain to the Executive Committee of the EUSPBA. Mark your calendars for November 8, when your EUSPBA Southern Branch hosts the 2008 Annual General Meeting at the Westin Atlanta Perimeter Center North. Rooms will be available for $99. Let's show our Executive Committee and fellow members some classic Southern Hospitality. Saturday's meeting will be followed by a great night of 'beer tent' style entertainment. More details soon. Due to other commitments, Winter Taylor has resigned as Southern Branch Chair. Tom Crawford has agreed to act as Interim Branch Chair and to oversee Branch elections in the Summer of 2008.
